Pros

  • You can register up to 4 different devices, making it a flexible option for multi-device households.
  • The Virgin app is great for streaming via a PC, so you can tailor your viewing experience as you wish.
  • Virgin TV Go has excellent compatibility with Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Safari and other browsers- plus, you can use an Android or iOS device with no technical hiccups.

Cons

  • Later on, you can't reduce the number of added devices, so choose wisely.
  • To register devices for streaming, you'll need to be mindful of maintaining your cookies and caches.
  • The TV streaming service doesn't play nicely with Chrome, and a few pesky bugs in the browser make it a tad glitchy.

Introduction

Virgin TV Go doesn’t have a soft spot for giveaways like most UK streaming providers. But, keep a close watch for the occasional flash in the pan deals, usually bundled with other Virgin home services - like the winter sale and packages including a free LG TV!

The service is varied enough so that any avid viewer can benefit from one of the packages - but bear in mind that Virgin TV Go is only available for existing customers, although it is then free.

With over 190 channels to choose from across any of the three main packages, Virgin TV customers are spoilt for choice. Let's look at what's available and the broadband bundle services.

Price

From the M100 Broadband to Volt Fibre broadband, prices range from:

  • £33 a month for a Big Bundle - M100 fibre broadband, 100+ streaming channels and Talk Weekends.
  • £45 a month for the Big Volt Bundle - M100 fibre broadband, a 10GB O2 SIM, 100+ TV Channels and Talk Weekends.
  • £62 a month for the Bigger Bundle + Movies - M100 fibre broadband, Sky Cinema HD, 200+ TV channels and Talk Weekends.
  • £89 a month for the Ultimate Volt Bundle - Gig1 fibre broadband, 230+ channels including entertainment, Anytime calls, and an O2 SIM.

Channels available

Subscribers gain 30-day access to Sky Sports Mix, CNN International, FoxHD, Comedy Central and a whole lot more!

Packages

Virgin Media offers fibre broadband and TV streaming; customers can add a landline to the broadband and streaming combo.

TV Streaming Service

Virgin TV Go is poised to give its customers a decent streaming service in 2022.

With the Special Virgin TV 360 box, you can pause, rewind and record, giving you that much-needed flexibility similar to a Sky package, although cheaper.

With channels like BT Sport in 4K Ultra HD, Sky channels in HD and an optional Netflix subscription, the 30-day catch-up experience is up there in terms of quality. Each bundle is designed with affordability and home entertainment in mind, catering to families and households of all sizes.

Conclusion

Virgin TV Go has all the right features and collaborations with major channels, and as the service broadens and irons out some of the teething problems, it can only get better.

While you need to be a Virgin customer to get the streaming option for free or pick up a bundle with this as a bonus, the customer service support is great.

As a well-known and respected brand name, Virgin offers a lot of bang for your buck, and it has an increasingly good reputation as a result.
