Introduction

Hostinger is always worth a look for your web hosting needs, if anything for its jaw droppingly low prices. With an introductory offer, on its most basic plan, users can find themselves paying just 99p a month to the web hosting provider. It means that it is extremely good value for those who are just starting out into the website world, so it can be an inexpensive way to make mistakes. What is also great is that the basic plans are not automatically light on features. They still manage to offer a whole host of key functionality and capabilities that mean using Hostinger is not a bare bones venture. For example, you can create your own professional email address and on some of the higher bracket plans, you can even set up more than one email address if you need.

Price

  • Starting from just £0.99 a month with introductory offers on basic plans

Key Feature

  • A budget-priced web hosting provider

Key features

Hostinger has a huge customer base that goes into the millions. While many of those customers will have been undoubtedly drawn in by the price of even the most expensive package, they stay for the good service they receive. That’s down, in part, to the quick site speeds that their websites enjoy. That’s a key factor to get right for any web host (yet many don’t) as slow speeds affect the bounce rates of a website, and therefore can affect their rankings in organic searches. Plus, slow speeds simply affect a website visitor's experience on a site, and can put them off accessing the site ever again.

While Hostinger’s speeds are not market leading, they are fast enough for the majority of a website’s needs. Page load speeds are undeniably great though and few competitors would be able to match them. If you do come into a problem however, be it with page speeds or not, you may be disappointed with the level of service that customer support can give. While technically speaking, it is available around the clock, which is great, the live chat feature can take some time to match you up with a representative. That's not always the case, but if your problem is urgent, you often want to have an instantaneous response and, importantly, be confident that you can get an instantaneous response too. When you do get a reply from your rep, you will likely always be more than happy with what you receive. Customer support personnel are well trained and well informed.

In many other respects, Hostinger’s offering is great. Account set up is very straightforward and intuitive. While choosing certain options for web hosting can be an overwhelming, confusing process for some, Hostinger’s procedure is clear. The only drawback is that, during setup, you may find that your subscription costs may go up a little to what you expected owing to what choices you do eventually pick.

Conclusion

You will never find a web host provider that gives you an all singing and all dancing product for 99p a month. However, you may well find that, despite the limitations on its most basic package, Hostinger is still fine for your needs. It's most expensive package is still of exceptional value (especially if you take into account the introductory offers). While sometimes its page response time can be lagging, they’re never poor and, again, for the price, it is difficult to grumble. If you compare costs of other providers against Hostinger, and then also compare their own speeds, Hostinger looks like a pretty good bet for many.
